Reminders & Announcements
Monday - Profesora Trujillo is still sick. P6 & P8 please, help our substitute teacher during the lesson.

Portafolio de escucha: Coraline reminder - Many of you have not completed this assignment. Remember that you need to turn in the portafolio in Google classroom. Open the doc I provided you with, read the instruction, and type the entire worksheet in it. There is a reflection piece that you need to complete too. Grades are due soon, and the grade you have in will become permanent, unless you finish the work.

I'd like to remind you at this time the importance of participating, and working in teams during class.
Having a positive attitude is important when learning. If you are still wondering how to get a good grade, remember what the expectations are:

  • be respectful with the teacher and your peers. 
  • pay attention and focus on the task at hand.
  • pay attention when the teacher is explaining.
  • be ready to work (bring out materials)
  • be proactive and mindful. I value team work. Help your team learn Spanish. 
  • if you have a question, please first ask your peers for help. Raise your hand, and I will be there to help you when I possibly can. Our classes are large, if you see me busy, write your question, and ask it when I go near your table. 
  • Spanish class is for Spanish. So, please, make sure you put away other materials. I expect you to be focused, and to work hard.

Last but not least:  Cellphones are powerful tools, but their use in our classroom is for learning. Learning how to use them at school is very important, so I hope I don't have to spend a lot of time taking phones. Our time is too valuable.

  • to invite a friend to do an activity after school.

 Quiz

Get ready for an oral quiz at the end of this week:
Día A - quiz on Thursday
Día B - quiz on Friday.

Here is the basic vocabulary you need to study and practice. You can practice it as you work on your dream house project.
The quiz is not going to be too difficult. I will ask you questions like the ones below. Next to them you will see the minimum I'm shooting for:

  • ¿qué has hecho este fin de semana? 
    • Sample answers: He jugado videojuegos con mis amigos; el sábado he cenado en un restaurante japonés con mis padres; 
  • ¿cuántas habitaciones tiene tu casa?
    • Sample answer: mi casa tiene cinco habitaciones, una cocina grande y tres baños.
  • ¿dónde va a estar la casa de tus sueños?
    • Sample answer: la casa de mis sueños va a estar en el campo.
  • ¿qué hay en tu salón?
    • Sample answer: en mi salón hay una tele, dos sofás y una consola de videojuegos.
  • ¿qué hay en tu habitación?
    • Sample answer: en mi habitación hay una cama, etc...

   The proposed deadline for this project is next week, Monday and Tuesday, but we might have to move it to after the new year, depending on how we are doing.
